Wednesday Afternoon Movie: The Fabelmans

An eight-year-old Sammy Fabelman discovers his calling in life when his parents take him to see ?The Greatest Show on Earth.? He receives a camera, and to the delight of his supportive mother, he begins making films at home. But Sammy?s reality differs from the movies he creates. Growing up in post-World War II Arizona, he is confronted by antisemitism, economic disadvantage, bullies, family secrets, and parental divorce. As a result, Sammy immerses himself in filmmaking, where he has complete control over the stories he creates. He uses his art to understand the life around him.
