Program Description

Event Details

In this workshop, you will learn to create beautiful designs using Warli art, a traditional tribal art form from Maharashtra, India. Warli art is known for its simple yet meaningful patterns that tell stories of everyday village life, nature, and festivals — all drawn using basic shapes like circles, triangles, and lines.

Traditionally, Warli art is done in white on mud walls. In this session, we will recreate that charm on a wooden plank, giving it a modern, decorative touch while staying true to the original style.

All materials will be provided.

Topics covered in the introduction:

  • A brief background of Warli art and its cultural significance
  • Demonstration of basic drawing techniques and common Warli motifs
  • Paint preparation and brush techniques
  • Design inspiration and layout ideas

No prior art experience is needed. Join us for a relaxing and creative experience, and take home your very own hand-painted Warli art on wood!
