Join the author as she takes you through her childhood in the thick jungle of the Caraballo and Cordillera Mountains in Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines during World War II with her parents and the guerrilla hospital unit. While constantly on the move and hiding from the Japanese Military, life was desperate but yet inspirational. Stories of her humble beginnings, a strong education, cultural challenges in America, and a disrupted family life create the backdrop for her strong advocacy for the well-being of the Philippine nurses in the United States. The result is the formation of a national organization that is now a part of the Philippine American History made in America.
